It is almost that time of year friends! Summer is coming! School is almost out and I know that because it is almost Memorial Day! I love to make decorations for Memorial day because I can keep them up through 4th of July and I feel like I really get a long run out of them. The first thing I always make is a wreath and I am so thrilled to share this fun an super easy wreath with you all to get you ready for sprinklers, pools, fireworks and bathing suits. Ok, maybe nothing can really get me ready for bathing suits but crafting surely gets my mind of that for a while! Let’s get started!
This wreath is perfect for beginners, mommy and me style projects, teens and anyone else that would like a fun red, white and blue wreath for their door! Plus, if you are someone who has a lot of fabric scraps, this would be a perfect stash buster! Here is what you need
- FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam Wreath
- 3/4-1 yard of a red patterned fabric, a blue patterned fabric and a white patterned fabric
- Dull pencil
The best part about the FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam Wreaths are that they come in so many sizes so you can choose the size that fits best for your door! I went with the 14 inch size, if you are doing the larger sizes you will for sure need at least the yard of each color. If you are stash busting then you can of course use different blue fabrics and red fabrics and so on if you like the look.
This is the perfect craft for hanging out in front of the TV and trying to keep your hands busy and not in a bowl of candy… not that I would know anything about that… moving on. First things first, let’s cut some circles!
I chose to do different sizes because I thought it would be a little more interesting but you could do all the same if you wanted. Don’t they all look so pretty hanging out together?!
Now comes the dull pencil part, I am sure that was an interesting item to come across the supply list, but it is imperative that it is dull. If the pencil is sharp then there is a good chance you will just go right through the fabric and never get it into the wreath securely and you don’t want that! The dull pencil does the job perfectly and if you house is anything like mine dull pencils are everywhere and sharp pencils are never to be found. All you want to do is place the circle on the wreath and the pencil in the middle.
Then push the pencil into the wreath and viola! Isn’t that fun and addicting?!
Now do it a couple hundred more times (ok, maybe not hundreds but for sure a many more dozens of times) and then your wreath will start to look like this!
And before the end of your favorite guilty pleasure TV show, you will have a wreath ready for the door!
I love changing out wreaths seasonally, how often do you change out your wreaths? Let me know in the comments below!
