I love when spring comes because the colors get brighter and the days get longer. I love any excuse to get friends together to create and one of our favorite things to do with friends, hands down, are dessert pizzas. I love them because they have a little something for everyone and friends love them because they can personalize them with all their favorites. On this particular day, I thought I would put together a table with a fun Easter twist for the upcoming holiday and share a fun new version of an Easter basket that is perfect for teen girls would love to receive!
Let’s start with the dessert pizzas. They start with a basic sugar cookie dough, if you already have a family favorite, use that, but I like to modify a store bought version to be used with cookie cutters. It all starts with your dry mix in a bowl and before you add anything else, mix in 3 tablespoons of flour.
Then make the cookies according to the package directions and the extra flour helps stiffen up the dough enough to be rolled out and ready for cookie cutters of your choice!
I went with circles so that they would mimic the pizza crust idea and then put them on some nonstick pans and baked them for about 7 minutes at 375 degrees.
While those were cooling, I set up the tablescape with all the trimmings. I started with a sweet vinyl (and easy to clean) tablecloth and added some fun and practical pink plastic trays to contain any potential mess. Both of these were easy to find in the seasonal section with all the other MARS chocolates and candies I picked up for decorating. I added bowls down the middle filled with bananas, strawberries, frosting, M&M’s® Easter Sundaef (make sure you get these fast, they are only available for a limited time and ONLY at Walmart!), and Starburst® Original Jellybeans.
I just love the colors of the M&M’s® Easter Sundae, and they are pretty tasty too!
The last piece for the tables were these sweet purse Easter ‘baskets’ I put together with lots of extra goodies including Hubba Bubba® $1 Bubble Tape, Skittles® $1 egg, Skittles® $1 tube, Easter Mixed Brand Chocolates, and Easter M&M’s® Milk Chocolate.
I love how they came out and how they would appeal to such a vast range in ages! I made a quick little video showing how easy they come together for you to check out, it’s only a couple of minutes!
Once the table was set, it was time for the fun to begin! Of course it all starts with some frosting on your crust, as little or as much as you want!
Then they get to add all the toppings they would like! They love this part and just sprinkle on the all the goodies!
I had a some fun and made a little flower on my cookie because even the adults can feel like a teen during this playdate!
Now, the final piece of course is the party favor, you can’t leave a party without a party favor! The only thing that made sense was a giant 12oz DOVE® Milk Chocolate Easter Bunny, of course! I took the bunny and wrapped a piece of scrapbook paper around it and created a label with the writing feature of my Cricut Explore. Super sweet and very impressive!
The best part? Everything I needed from the tablecloth to the candy I was able to pick up in one trip to Walmart that didn’t break the bank!
