We are more than half way through teacher appreciation and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out something fun to give to all my co-workers! BUT, it came to me. I wanted to make sure it was something they would all like and actually get some use from and then it hit me… SHARPIES! Who doesn’t love a Sharpie? Exactly, plus we are always using them in the classroom and these metallic ones are a fun break up from the norm!
I picked these up at Target, well actually, I ordered and paid for them online and then walked up to guest services and picked them up. Much faster that way because I was able to buy them on my break and then pick them up after work. Fabulous! Then the rest of it I left up to my Cricut Explore, I used a scalloped banner piece as a tag and added the words with the pen feature- all I had to do was glue it together!
After everything was written and cut, I layered and secured the pieces together. I always use hot glue on stuff like this that is probably not going to be saved because adhesives can be expensive so I like to save the good stuff for scrapbooking and other memory keeping projects. I went with a browns and golds theme because it matched the Sharpies that I ended up buying. If I had done a more rainbow of colors, the paper would have definitely been different.
I am so glad I have a fun thing to hand out tomorrow and that it totally fits within the guidelines of my hilarious friend Jen’s post about what teachers really want to receive, you will have to check that one out HERE for a good laugh and great information!
