DIY State Ornaments

It is December!!! I love this time of year and I am so excited for all the crafting that gets to happen from now until New Years (then comes January and the chance to clean it all up). I am trying to think handmade this year and especially for ornaments and I thought I would share with you all, my latest creation! I am apart of an ornament exchange each year with a fabulous group of ladies that have grown to be great friends and this year I am so excited to give my ornaments! The wonderful lady I got this year has moved a couple of times and has family in a few different states so I used that as inspiration for my easy DIY state ornaments!! Aren’t they cute??

And beyond simple to put together, the ornaments I picked up were the plastic (aka shatterproof) ornaments that were about a dollar each. I like these because they are great for kids, pets and mailing across the US, all important things! Seriously, there are just a few steps to putting these together. I used some spray adhesive on the inside of the ornament, a few shots in all directions and then I just poured in some silver glitter.

I moved the ornament all around until the glitter covered everything inside and then put the lid back on. Next I used my Cricut to cut the state shapes out of black vinyl and stuck them on. It does not get simplier than that!!

I can’t wait until my friend gets her ornaments!!
