Now, I am also obsessed with all things Disney, it really is one of my favorite places, so I have just as much fun getting ready for the trip as Avery does!
If you remember, I had made a paper chain mickey countdown last summer that I love, but I didn’t have all the paper available to make it again. Plus, there is always room for another countdown board!
- Cut & Sanded Wood Board
- Acrylic Paint
- Chalkboard Paint
- Sponge Brushes
- Vinyl and Cricut or Chipboard letters
- Bow if Making Minnie Board
- Circles to trace (mine were a small mason jar lid and a large roll of painters tape)
I wanted Avery to help, and she is always asking to paint with me so I let her paint the wood board I used yellow. Of course.
Then I grabbed some circles in the right sizes and traced them on the board on the right.
I hand painted the chalkboard paint in the lines with a sponge brush. This is after the first coat and it needs at least two. But wait until the first coat is completely dry or it will just pull the paint and you will have to do even more coats. I know this from experience…maybe.
Then I went into Cricut Craft Room and used their current free font to make the words and center them. I cut them on the vinyl and added the transfer paper to remove it and apply to the board on the left.
Now if you want a Mickey board, you are done! I thought it was cute like this, but my girl loves so Minnie.
So I just made a quick bow and hot glued it on! She is going to be so excited about this board!
