We did a zoo theme for Avery’s 2nd birthday and I think she had a great time!
It is the cutest thing, lately she will go around saying “happy day”, I like when she has happy days :).
But anyways, let’s take a walk through her party, shall we?!
I found these cute little wooden animals at Joanns for $.59 and added them to the buffet, I covered the riser with dark brown burlap.
The cupcakes and their pics. I used fun-da-middles (got them for free with coupons during the holidays) and instead of the oil, egg and water, I added a can of soda (which I bought on clearance). It was super quick and easy to make and could cut some calories if you do a diet soda.

Party favors were little paper pads I made with animal erasers which I had on hand (and were the inspiration for the favor) and pencils I picked up from the dollar store- in a basket also from the dollar store.
My mantle had a bunch of animal picture frames that my mom picked up at the $2.50 spot at target and I filled with pictures of Avery from birth until now.
My mom got Avery a zoo keeper outfit and she of course rocked it at her zoo party- while stealing cupcakes.
I bought wooden letters to spell out two, painted them and then had them out for everyone to sign and I am going to hang them in her room.
For food, we had a nacho bar- easy to put together, pretty much a crowd pleaser and affordable if you have a warehouse store.
Of course there were a couple crafts.
Me and my girl, don’t know why the photos are so bright, I think my settings were off. It is kinda cool though.
Happy Birthday Avery!!!
I also got a bunch of these signs that my husband was so nice to hang up for me- my mom’s husband works at the SD Zoo and he knows an awesome lady, Mari, that was soooooo kind as to find all these old vinyl signs that I hung around the back yard and house.
