As I have mentioned, Avery and I are going back to school this year! Her as the student and me as the teacher and luckily in the same class!! So, because of this, Avery needs a lunch box!
I am sure I am reaching the same conflict that many others are as well, I want her to have an adorable lunch box but I want to save the most money possible.
This is where I am so grateful I am a crafty mama. Because I bought this lunch box for $2.74, regularly $2.99- the cheapest one they had at Target. And to me, a blank canvas.

I didn’t go crazy, but a little vinyl embellishment really brought this lunch box from boring to adorable without too much work!
First I cut out her name in the black vinyl and put it on the back of the lunch box.
Then I cut out this cute little squirrel and deer forest doily at 4″ from my Cindy Loo Cricut Cartridge also out of the black vinyl.
After I got the little pieces out, I just put it on the front of the lunch box!
Done! I think it is adorable and the perfect compromise. The possibilities are really endless, you could do any color or design of vinyl or puff paints or fabric pens. It could be your child’s own piece of artwork and they won’t care that they don’t have the latest cartoon face on the front!
