Fast and Easy Valentines

I made these for my husbands class, he isn’t so excited to bring them but his co-workers know by now that he doesn’t have a say in this kind of thing and to expect it from me. Hey if you want the random cookie or brownie platter then you take the corny Valentines too right?!?!

Here is what you need:

  • Heart shaped suckers
  • White card stock
  • Two corresponding sheets of scrapbook paper
  • Heart punch, template or Cricut cartridge with a heart on it
  • Ribbon
  • Stamp pad in a corresponding color
  • Hole punch

First cut your card stock as wide as the suckers you are using and twice as long. For mine it was 2 1/2″ by 6″. Then you fold them in half.

Next I added ink to the edges of the cards by just dragging them across the top of the ink pad.

Then I added the two holes in the bottom that I will put the ribbon through to hold the card on the suckers.

To decorate the card I used my Cricut to cut a 1 3/4″- 2″ heart out of one of my scrapbook papers and attached it at an angle on the front.

Then I added the smaller 1″ heart at the bottom.

Now add the sucker inside, put the ribbon through and tie it in the back and you are done! You can use a bow and tie it in the front but I felt this was faster and used less ribbon, plus I was happy with the clean look in the end.

I am also working on two more bow tutorials for next week, the flower bow and butterfly bow- these are two of my favorites!

These are super cute. I did little sucker valentines for Trey and I of course had to look all over town for the suckers.
What a lucky guy you have to have a sweet crafty wife like yourself.
    Have a great weekend!
