Baby Shower Thank You Cards

I got my thank you cards for the baby shower out today and though it was a week ago, I think I get some extra time for hand made cards right?!!? I had so much paper left over from the candy bar wrappers that I had plenty for the cards and they correspond quite nicely I might add! Here is how I made them:

I cut my white cardstock to fit the envelopes I had which was conviently just an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of paper cut in half depending how you wanted your card to open. Then I gathered my pink and brown papers, ribbon and a third paper that I ran through the Cricut to get my “thank you” phrase (from the New Arrival cartridge) and the brown paper was also ran through to cut the ovals.

Next I cut out the pink patterned paper to 4x 5 1/4″ and centered it on the front of the card.

Then I took my ribbon (left over from the shower invites) and put it down the center of the card and cut the edges.

Then I added the ovals I cut using my Cricut (4″) to the center, on top of the ribbon.

And lastly I added the phrase “thank you” centered on the top (for this I used spray adhesive because with all the detail of the words it was the easiest way to make sure it all got adhered so no little edges tore).

Cute, Michelle! And, yea…I agree you should get a few extra days for being homemade. :)

    Hey Michelle!

Those are so cute! I think it is great that you are taking the time to make the thank you cards yourself! It seems like the last few showers I have attended whether it be wedding or baby they have neglected to send out any thank you cards at all! I have a friend who has said the same about the showers she has been too. We can’t figure out why they don’t send them anymore.

What a cute idea. I love the idea of matching the cards with the candy bars. You are so crafty.
    Have a fabulous Monday!

    Hello Michelle,
This is the first time I am writing on your blog. I got your blog through ‘the american homemaker’.
I wanted to thank you for the lovely site of the fabric flowers, which I really love.
You are a real good crafter, I like your thank you cards a lot. I am also a card maker :)

Thanks for all the compliments ladies! Making the cards is always the fun part and Angela you are right, it seems like they get sent less and less.
